About the project
Why cimbal.sk exists
The cimbalom is the royal instrument of Slovak folk music, and yet there is almost nothing practical about it online. Encyclopaedia entries, yes; an answer to “what does a cimbalom for a child cost and who will tune it”, no. cimbal.sk fills that gap.
The site is written in Slovakia, in Slovak first; this English edition carries the same articles for readers abroad: players, teachers, researchers and anyone who has just discovered the instrument.
What you will find here
- Articles: practical guides to the instrument, prices, tuning and learning to play.
- Directory: makers and repairs, and in time bands and teachers.
Independence and advertising
We intend to fund the site with a mix of clearly labelled sponsored articles, affiliate links and paid directory listings. One rule applies throughout: commercial content is always labelled, and recommendations are written the way we would advise our own family. Trust is the only thing this site has.
Basic directory listings are free, you can add yours here. Only profile highlighting and lead forwarding will be paid for.
